Dr. Jill’s Commentary
Brrrrriiinngg on the bitters! This is the whopatooie of bitter formulas. If you aren’t a bitter fan, back away. If you are, THIS is the formula for you. Dr. Shade, the developer of the formula, has said that women tend to love this one – which makes sense with mold. Mold toxins are fat-soluble, and like it or not ladies, we have more body fat than men. Meaning – we take on more mycotoxins and therefore need a bigger bitter punch to assist detox.

I love to recommend bitters for mold recovery. While not so subtle in flavor, their ability to subtly correct digestive and detoxification imbalances is nothing short of miraculous.

You may be familiar with bitters from mixed drink recipes that call for a splash of bitters to pop the flavor. Well bitters do more than that! They get the digestive juices flowing, which triggers many downstream effects – one of which is to encourage the liver to make and move bile – a critical component of mold detoxification. Bitters were traditionally added to alcohol drinks to reduce the toxic effects of alcohol. They have the same benefit for mold.

Strangely enough, we tend to crave bitter flavors the more toxic we are. Why do you think there’s been a rise in the consumption of familiar bitters, such as coffee and chocolate, in concert with our increasingly polluted and “chemical-ed” world? We need detox help.

I recommend bitters in liquid form because it’s the very act of experiencing the taste of bitter that exerts its action downstream. I like this bitter combination which takes the bitter to a whole other level. One pump on the tongue before meals or after a meal if your digestion feels sluggish.

From The Book
Here are some key points from my book, Break The Mold, so you can see how this PROTECT tool fits into a mold recovery plan.
This picture best describes the steps to recover your health after a toxic mold exposure.

The first solution is to AVOID mold!

AVOIDANCE means getting away from the mold.

FUNDAMENTALS involve specific foods and lifestyle factors that can greatly improve your ability to conquer mold.

PROTECT and REPAIR is accomplished with targeted nutrients to manage the toxic damage from mycotoxin exposure.

FIGHT means conquering fungal overgrowth in your body.
