What’s Up With Sinusitis and Mold?
According to the CDC, sinusitis is one of the most common symptoms from exposure to a moldy building.
TRUE!
What they don’t tell you…
Even if you left that moldy building, you may be bringing the problem with you in your sinuses. The microbes from that building can move into your sinuses, and then that can seed your gut every time you swallow.
Sinus colonization can create a hidden barrier to full recovery from mold, and here’s the sneaky part — you can have fungal colonization in the sinuses WITHOUT SINUS SYMPTOMS. The colonies have figured out how to decode your immune system and become their own mycotoxin factories.
In my experience, you have to do something active to get rid of the invaders. They don’t just go away on their own. When we treat the sinuses, people get better faster and they stop producing mycotoxins.

Hi, Dr. Jill Crista here, author of Break The Mold.
So the CDC, the Center for Disease Control, says that sinusitis is the most common thing that you get if you’ve been exposed to a moldy building.
Totally true!
Here’s what they don’t tell you. Even if you’ve left that moldy building, you may be bringing the problem with you in your sinuses. Just by getting out of the building doesn’t mean that you’ve gotten rid of the problem.
Quite often, that building moved into your body and the sinuses, in your gut, and you get things like candida, and you have to do something active to get rid of that. It doesn’t just go away on its own because it has figured out how to decode your immune system.
So if you are struggling with chronic sinusitis after exposure to a water-damaged building, check out my book, Break The Mold. I think you’ll find some solutions.
