Dr. Jill’s Commentary
One of the helpful detoxification REPAIR tools I write about in my book is Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA). It’s very close cousin is NAC. NAC is also a precursor to glutathione, but like ALA, it has its own special magic. NAC not only assists the liver and kidney with repair after exposure to mold and mycotoxins, it also helps the lungs.

NAC is my go-to for people who have a lot of breathing issues since their mold exposure. This is especially helpful if a person had a significant exposure to spores or spore fragments. A common scenario is when a family decides to remodel a bathroom or kitchen and mold is found after tearing out the old material or appliances. Normally, with known moldy areas,  the mold-affected area is sealed off. But if it started as a remodel, mold is not expected. This can cause cross-contamination of the surrounding areas of mold spores and fragments.

NAC is also beneficial for those who’s sinuses or lungs have been colonized by the moldy building. It serves as a mild biofilm agent.

From The Book
Here are some key points from my book, Break The Mold, so you can see how this REPAIR tool fits into a mold recovery plan.
This picture best describes the steps to recover your health after a toxic mold exposure.

The first solution is to AVOID mold!

AVOIDANCE means getting away from the mold.

FUNDAMENTALS involve specific foods and lifestyle factors that can greatly improve your ability to conquer mold.

PROTECT and REPAIR is accomplished with targeted nutrients to manage the toxic damage from mycotoxin exposure.

FIGHT means conquering fungal overgrowth in your body.
