Don’t Forget The Nourishment Part of Detox

Feeling rough from your mold detox? Hey, I’m Dr. Jill Crista, naturopathic doctor, mold expert, and author of Break the Mold, and I want to gently remind you: don’t forget to nourish.

Detox is important…so important! But lately I’m seeing a trend where everyone’s focused on getting things out, and not enough on putting the good stuff back in.

It’s like gardening. You can’t just pull the weeds, you’ve got to water and feed your plants if you want them to thrive. Your body’s no different.

Let’s make sure your detox has the nourishment it needs.

Why Nourishment Is Key to Mold Detox

I’m a little concerned that all the focus goes toward removal with detox. It becomes all about elimination, but the replacement part is forgotten. Nourishment is about restoration. And when both work together? That’s when mold recovery really takes off. Here is why it matters:

  • Balance Is Essential: Nourishing as you detox means you don’t feel so cruddy and rundown.
  • Your Detox Pathways Need Fuel: Nutrients like bioflavonoids and good fats help your liver, kidneys, and lymph do their jobs.
  • This is Whole-body Healing: Nourishment supports your immunity, tissues, energy, mood and ability to clear mycotoxins.

Don’t skip the part that helps you feel better while you get better.

The Role of Hydration in Detox

💧 Hydration is a cornerstone of the nourish part of detox. Here’s why:

  • You Need to Sweat to Detox: Water helps you eliminate mycotoxins through your skin.
  • It Supports Your Detox Organs: Your liver and kidneys flush toxins more efficiently when you’re hydrated, easing detox strain.

Having trouble staying hydrated? You’re not alone. I talk about this more in my Why Spring Water with Mold video blog.

Bioflavonoids and Healthy Oils for Recovery

Bioflavonoids and good oils are a one-two punch in mold recovery.

  • Bioflavonoids Fuel Detox: Found in colorful vegetables and green tea – they support your body’s built-in defenses and detoxify safely, by supporting detox pathways and reducing toxin load.
  • Healthy Oils Dilute Toxins: Mold toxins are fat-loving. Swapping in good, clean oil can “oil change” your system, pushing out the yucky, gunky mycotoxin oils.

I recommend DHA Absorb as a nourishing, toxin-free option for doing just that. It’s not all bitters and bile. Nourishment is soothing, supportive, and essential.

Tips to Balance Detox with Nourishment

Balance is the key to break the mold and take back your health. Here’s how to integrate nourishment into your daily detox routine:

  • Stay Hydrated: So you can sweat it out. Learn more in my Why Spring Water with Mold blog.
  • Add Bioflavonoids: They power detox pathways for safer detox and calm the storm.
  • Use Healthy Oils: I love DHA Absorb for swapping out gunky, mycotoxin-laden fats.
  • Get Rest: Sleep is when your body rebuilds. Don’t underestimate it!

You’re Ready to Nourish and Thrive!

If detox has you feeling depleted, it might be time to shift focus.

Hydration, nutrients, healthy fats, and rest help detox do its job without leaving you drained. You’re not just clearing out toxins… you’re building resilience.
