If you have a loved one struggling with PANS or PANDAS, you NEED this book. Dr. Jill makes understanding the physiology of the PANS monster easy. (Glial cells become Bad Monkeys that throw monkey-poo around the brain.) She gives parents a plan. Unfortunately, she did not write this book until after I was deep in the trenches of trying to stop the PANS monster in my daughter, so I had was on my own. You don't have to wander or be confused. This is the book PANS parents need to start a good fight against the monster within their children.

Wow. This is the book I’ve been looking for in the 2 months since I became a parent of a child with pandas. This book gives hope and practical advice for an illness that often leaves you hopeless. I will be revisiting and rereading this regularly and will order the paper copy now so I can highlight and return to the bits relevant to me. I’m so grateful I found this book.

Amazing book for helping with PANS/PANDAS - my son caught flu A and started tremoring while sleeping in a way I’d never experienced. I remember reading subelement recommendations while browsing and ran downstairs at 4 am to review it. The supplementation was simple and in my cabinet and the mega tremors subsided in just a few minutes! Such a relief and such a good resource.

Raising a child with PANDAS/PANS is one of the most challenging things I have ever done. Finding resources like this book helps to untangle the riddle of what is actually going on with my child. I loved the examples to help me to understand a complex condition and the simple language to break down this new reality.

A ton of info, a bit overwhelming, but in bite sizes very helpful.

Love this book. Lots of useful info. An excellent resource to learn about the needs of PANS / PANDAS kids and treament options. Helps me have a useful dicussion with my ND and helps me understand what does and doens't work for a child and mechanistically why.

I have 3 kids with PANS/PANDAS and have a fantastic Dr that we've been with for 9+ years. I got this book just to check it out, and it blew me away! The details on how to treat were way more than I expected. I ended up giving the book to a friend with a newly diagnosed PANDAS kiddo who can't afford a functional medicine Dr. I truly think she can make some decent progress on her own just with this book!

Our naturopathic doctor recommended this book! We are just beginning this journey for our daughter but this book is amazing and I have learned so much! I will be referring back to this book, often, I am sure! Lots of great information to help that healing process!!

This book is worth a read. I wish the author would organize it more like medical medium books. The info and solutions are tough to handle all at once and I find myself needing to make a step by step list to use any of the solutions. I’m already a very health conscious parent and have made extreme life and diet changes for health. This book IMO is too much to handle as it is written. Dr. Crista: please consider presenting the info in manageable phases to achieve a cure.

I bought this book because my grandson is suffering with PANS/PANDAS and the subject is so complex. The book is a gem and I was so happy to have found it, I immediately ordered a copy for his parents, too. I have already gleaned so much actionable information from this compassionate book that I have not seen elsewhere. You will not be disappointed!

My 10 yr old Grandaughter has PANDAS. I had listened to a Pos Cast from this author and was very impressed with her and decided to order the book. I am a RN. but have been retired for 10 yrs and had never seen a case of PANDAS until my daughter informed me. This book breaks everything down in simple terms with a little bit of knowledge that I had to reference. But it has some GREAT information and talks about how it begins, the symptoms, the treatments with lots of information in between. If you have a child with PANS OR PANDAS I WOULD BUY THIS BOOK. I DO NOT think you'll regret the purchase one bit!

I purchased "A light in the Dark for PANDAS and PANS" book yesterday, and after that, I couldn't stop reading it. The information, Dr. Crista provided regarding treatment approaches was tremendous. The way she explained the complex scientific subjects in the latest articles in a way everybody can understand, shows how she is knowledgeable. The Foreword that has been written by Dr. Nathan shows parents the way that they should go. I will come again to complete my review after treatment…. I just purchased this book last week as a clinical social worker and have 2 clients with PANS in my practice. I already read through it twice and recommended it to the two clients’ parents and one of their supporting doctors. It’s easy to read and a great reference for facing this battle no parent ever asked for!

This is an amazing resource for anyone trying to heal their child/loved one/themselves from PANDAS/PANS. It’s so thoughtfully organized and I am already marking pages, taking notes, and referring to it constantly. It’s full of usable information and the explanations are easy to understand and helpful. Jill Crista provides so much free (or, almost free, just the price of a book) information not only in this book but also on her website and various podcasts she’s been interviewed on. This easily accessible information could make a huge difference in struggling children’s lives, and I thank her for the time she put into sharing her wealth of knowledge. Her years of personal experience treating PANDAS/PANS in many children, including her own, is poured into this book. She admits she purposely kept it short though, and condensed her core tools in order to avoid overwhelming stressed out parents who are in survival mode (which I appreciate). With that said, I’d also love a second edition…the information-overload version…as well! My only criticism is this book didn’t come out a year ago when we were first trying to navigate this condition! For us personally, this book is already worth its weight in gold since it lead me to discover an effective supplement that opened up my eyes to the fact that my daughter’s case involves some histamine issues. Something none of her providers thus far have discovered. It’s made a huge difference. Thank you Dr. Crista for your dedication to educating parents, patients, and providers about PANDAS/PANS!

I read with great interest book : A LIGHT IN THE DARK for PANS/PANDAS. Having learned so much from Dr. Crista over the years I was interested in learning more about she approaches PANS/PANDAS . I really like how the book puts together this puzzle in a digestible and actionable manner. It can be a reference for anyone who is in the midst of confusion if their child has been diagnosed with PANS/PANDS. It can be read front to back and also be used a reference book to look up information , testing, and treatments. Very clear , digestible, and practical.

This is my FAVORITE book I have read on treating and understanding PANS/PANDAS so far. As a PANS patient I have read many as I attempt to learn all I can and this was a wonderful wealth of information. Plus, it had detailed, yet easy to understand and apply, explanations with practical advice from an experienced naturopathic doctor who dealt with this condition with her own twin sons. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone dealing with PANS/PANDAS or for anyone that wants to learn more about these conditions and what to be aware of and on the lookout for. Also, a great resource for practitioners to have on hand. Thank you Dr. Crista, for taking the time to bring us such a great book! I know this book will benefit many people going through PANS/PANDAS, I know it has me!

Wish i had found this book sooner. I have read many books on the subject of pans/pandas in order to understand and help my son. But this book goes into what you can ACTUALLY do, eg, what you can actually buy and give and treat and how much wtc. Invaluable insight, easy to read, praying my husband wants to pick it up
