Dr. Jill’s Commentary
You may have heard me sing the praises of DHA. It’s the primary structural component of our brains (yep, that’s right, we’re all fat-heads!) 😉  The brain and nervous system get particularly affected by mold exposure. One of the most common symptoms with mold is brain fog. This happens because mycotoxins are fat-soluble, meaning that the easiest place for them to soak in and store is in fatty tissues – like the brain, nervous system, bone marrow, immune tissues, and the gut.

DHA is highlighted in the PROTECT section of my book, Break The Mold, for its ability to address many issues with mold, from quieting inflammation to protecting the kidneys from mycotoxin exposure.**

As my teachers preached, “the solution to pollution is dilution.” And when that pollutant is fat-soluble, dilution requires good fats to crowd out the toxin.

But there’s a problem. Many mold-affected people have issues with absorption of key essential fats. Normally, our liver and biliary system breaks up fat into little absorbable droplets. But after mold, this system gets gummed up with all the chemicals and toxins from the indoor moldy toxic air. Some people need a little digestive help.

That’s where this kind of DHA comes in. This DHA comes in the triglyceride form, which is how it naturally occurs in fish. Adding lipase makes it almost “pre-digested”. This form helps you skip forward a few steps into the fat-digesting process and enhances absorption.

From The Book
Here are some key points from my book, Break The Mold, so you can see how this PROTECT tool fits into a mold recovery plan.
This picture best describes the steps to recover your health after a toxic mold exposure.

The first solution is to AVOID mold!

AVOIDANCE means getting away from the mold.

FUNDAMENTALS involve specific foods and lifestyle factors that can greatly improve your ability to conquer mold.

PROTECT and REPAIR is accomplished with targeted nutrients to manage the toxic damage from mycotoxin exposure.

FIGHT means conquering fungal overgrowth in your body.
